Whether she intended to or not, Lady Gaga set the record straight following her intimate Oscars performance of “Shallow” with Bradley Cooper, her co-star from “A Star Is Born.”
While Twitter went totally gaga over the steamy duet, “America’s Got Talent’ judge Mel B said it made her feel bad for Cooper’s girlfriend, model Irina Shayk, who was watching from the front row.
Late Monday night, the “Million Reasons” singer defined their relationship in an Instagram post.
“Nothing could be more special than sharing this moment at the Oscars with a true friend and artistic genius,” she captioned a picture from their performance.
During Sunday’s telecast, Gaga and Cooper walked hand-in-hand to the stage and began performing the duet, eschewing an introduction.
The temperature rose when Cooper joined Gaga on her piano bench, singing their last harmonies into one microphone together, and fans were all over it, declaring the pair stole the show.
But in Mel B’s estimation, things got a little too spicy.
“I felt so uncomfortable, for Bradley’s girlfriend (Irina Shayk)…” the Spice Girl said on “Good Morning Britain,” covering her eyes in discomfort.
“It was the look of love, wasn’t it?” host Piers Morgan asked.
“It really was,” she agreed.
However, Mel B did stand up for Gaga when Morgan suggested the way she stared at Cooper crossed “a few lines.”
“I would like to think that that was just part of re-enacting of the song,” she said, “because there’s a women’s code.”

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the epic and “intimate” performance:
“Taking a personal day tomorrow after watching that v intimate performance of Shallow,” one Twitter user said.
“Ok I’m sweaty after watching that performance of Shallow that was INTIMATE,” another said.
“THEY DIDN’T EVEN INTRODUCE IT, IT WAS SO INTIMATE,” another said.
“‘Shallow’ was tonight’s one perfect moment. Magnificent cold opening, single-shot, intimate chemistry,” another said. “And what a blessing to give Bradley Cooper (unrewarded all season for the best work of his career) such a moment on the #Oscars stage.”
“Okay that Shallow performance deserves something on its own,” another said. “That was so intimate and soulful.”
Others just went wild over the performance.
“Did anyone else scream during that performance bc I can’t,” one person tweeted.
“lady gaga and bradley cooper singing the shallows somehow got me pregnant,” another said.
“Wowwwwww, wait a second, are they in love? They’re so totally in love, OMG,” another said.
The passionate performance also sparked memes.
“when your Postmate doesn’t make you come downstairs to pick it up,” one person joked with a picture of the stars.
“this meme format is unparalleled,” another wrote along with a meme comparing the stars to “Paul Manafort” and “doing crimes.”
