Colbert ponders Trump’s lack of brevity in Best of Late Night

By now, we should all be used to President Donald Trump’s late-night Twitter posts (and the frequent gaffes that accompany them). But his latest series of tweets on health care have the comics scratching their heads.

According to one tweet, the president has a plan to replace Obamacare, but he won’t reveal it until after the 2020 election (a comment the forced Jimmy Fallon think back to his high school days). In another tweet, Trump claims that the GOP will be the party of health care (the president’s spelling caused Seth Meyers to wonder if Trump actually wants to build a whale instead of a wall).

But it isn’t Trump’s Twitter chatter alone that’s made headlines this week. Apparently, the president’s father was born in Germany (a statement that brought back birther memories for Jimmy Kimmel).

All of these comments have Stephen Colbert wondering about the president’s wit.

Confused yet? Take a look at today’s Best of Late Night, above, for more details. After you do that, vote for your favorite joke in the poll below.
